Find your way to New Year Gorham 2026. Events take place at multiple locations in downtown Gorham.
1. Getting to Gorham Recreation Department
Address: 75 South Street (Suite 1), Gorham, ME 04038
Located in the former Shaw Middle School building
• From Village Center, head onto South Street (Route 114 South)
• Take the second right onto Morrill Avenue
• Then turn right onto Ball Park Road
• The Recreation Department will be on the right at the end of Ball Park Road
2. Getting to Gorham High School
Address: 41 Morrill Avenue, Gorham, ME 04038
Located along Morrill Avenue with clear signage
• The school is located along Morrill Avenue, accessible from several directions
• From Village Center, head onto South Street (Route 114)
• Turn onto Morrill Avenue
• Follow Morrill Avenue straight—High School is at 41 Morrill Avenue, on the right
3. Getting to Baxter Memorial Library
Address: 71 South Street, Gorham, ME 04038
Located in the village center, diagonally across from the former Shaw School
From Portland / South Portland:
• Take US-Route 25 / ME-114 toward Gorham
• As you approach the village center, continue on South Street (Route 114) heading into town
• The library is located on South Street near the historic district
Parking & Access:
• Option 1: From South Street, turn onto Morrill Avenue, then right onto Ballpark Avenue, proceed to the end and turn right into the library lot
• Option 2: From Narragansett Street, use the Access Road past the high school & rec department to reach the parking lot
• Street parking on South Street is also available
Public Transit / Walking:
• If coming via bus, aim for a stop close to South Street (Route 114) in Gorham's village center
• Walk toward 71 South Street—the building is near where South Street meets the historic district
• The library entrance is diagonally across from the former Shaw School
4. Getting to USM Ice Arena
Address: 55 Campus Avenue, Gorham, ME 04038
Located on the USM Gorham campus athletics complex
(Note: Some sources list 37 College Ave for the arena)
From Portland Area:
• Get onto I-295 (if coming via the interstate)
• Take the exit toward University of Southern Maine Gorham campus / Gorham town center
• From the north, use Exit 5B (Congress Street/Route 22) toward Gorham
• Follow Route 22 / Route 114 into the town center
• On reaching the campus area, turn onto Campus Avenue (or the indicated campus access road)
• Follow signs for athletics / ice arena parking
• Park in the designated lot for the arena (look for signage for Ice Arena / athletics complex)
Public Transit / Walking:
• If arriving by bus or dropped off near Gorham town center, head toward the USM Gorham campus
• Once on campus, follow pedestrian paths toward the athletics complex
• The Ice Arena is adjacent to the athletic fields and visible from Campus Avenue
• Sidewalk access available from campus parking to the arena entrance
A. From the Village Center (Town Hall area)
To Recreation Department:
- • Begin at Village Center
- • Proceed south on South Street (Route 114)
- • Take the second right onto Morrill Avenue
- • Turn right onto Ball Park Road
- • Continue to the end—Recreation Department on the right
To High School:
- • From Village Center, head onto South Street (Route 114)
- • Turn right onto Morrill Avenue
- • Follow Morrill Avenue straight
- • High School is at 41 Morrill Avenue, on the right
To Baxter Memorial Library:
- • Library is on South Street in the Village Center
- • Located at 71 South Street
- • Diagonally across from the former Shaw School
- • Accessible from South Street or via parking lot off Morrill/Ballpark
To USM Ice Arena:
- • From Village Center, head north on Route 114
- • Follow signs toward USM Gorham Campus
- • Turn onto Campus Avenue
- • Follow signs to athletics/ice arena parking
B. Between Downtown Venues
Recreation Department ↔ High School:
- • Exit Recreation Department onto Ball Park Road
- • Turn onto Morrill Avenue
- • High School is just ahead on Morrill Avenue
Village Center ↔ Baxter Library:
- • Library is within walking distance in the Village Center
- • Located on South Street near the historic district
C. From USM Gorham Campus or Hannaford
These locations are near the intersection of South Street and Morrill Avenue:
- • To Recreation Department: Access Morrill Avenue → Ball Park Road
- • To High School: Access Morrill Avenue → follow to #41
- • To Baxter Library: Head toward South Street in Village Center
- • To Ice Arena: Follow Route 114 north toward USM Campus → Campus Avenue
